10 February 1975 | Made | 72A Standing Committees / Northern Ireland Committee There shall be a Standing Committee to be called the Northern Ireland Committee which shall consider such specified matters relating exclusively to Northern Ireland as may be referred to them and shall consist of all Members sitting for constituencies in Northern Ireland, together with not more than twenty other Members to be nominated by the Committee of Selection, who shall have power from time to time to discharge the Members so nominated by them and to appoint others in substitution for those discharged. A motion may be made by a Minister of the Crown at the commencement of public business to the effect that a specified matter or matters relating exclusively to Northern Ireland be referred to the Northern Ireland Committee for their consideration and the question thereon shall be put forthwith. If such a motion be agreed to, the Committee shall consider the matter or matters to them referred on not more than four days in a session and shall report only that they have considered the said matter or matters. |
